This book is a guide to an integrated fencing system that, although over three centuries old, will be new to the majority of readers. Covering smallsword, backsword and some "dirty" infighting, Thurston conveys a cornucopia of information in very clear and easily digestible prose. If you have ever had to don a periwig and breeches in a rough neighbourhood, or if you just like martial arts and want to learn something new and exciting, this is is the perfect book for you. It belongs on the book shelf of every HEMA practitioner and open-minded Asian Martial Arts enthusiast. I was surprised and delighted by how much I enjoyed it.
